Creating Watermark using Brush Tool

One of the way to protect our pictures being used by other people without permission is by using Watermark on that picture. Many apps could create this Watermark. But for now we are going to create it using Photoshop. Beside the easiness, we could also use it as a master file so we don;t have to create it repeatedly. These are the steps.

• First prepare a new working canvas by clicking File>New or press Ctrl+N. Put Width: 800 pixels and Height: 600 pixels. Color Mode: RGB Color 8 bit. Background Contents: White. Then press OK.

• Press D to reset  Foreground and Background colour to become Black and White.

• Choose Horizontal Type Tool in Toolbox. Klik on the working canvas and write down some text for example: watermark.com. After that choose Move Tool in Toolbox or press V.

• In Menu Bar, click Window>Character to show up the Character pallete. Fill in the settings as you needed. Example, fonts used were: Arial Rounded MT Bold, size: 100 pt and color: abu-abu muda (code #e6e6e6).

• In Layers Pallete click Add a Layer Style and choose Drop Shadow.

• In the dialogue box of Drop Shadow create a configuration for Blend Mode: Multiply, Opacity: 45%, Angle: 90 derajat, Distance: 0 px, Spread: 20%, Size: 10 px. Then click OK.

• In the color box in Character pallete, Change it to white.

• The result would be like the picture below.

• In Layer pallete, click Background Layer then delete it by clicking the trash bin icon (Delete Layer). When confirmation dialog box appear, click Yes.

 

• Now we are going to change the text"watermark.com" becoming a  Brush, In Menu Bar,  click Edit>Define Brush Preset. In Brush Name dialog box, put in Name: Watermark. Click OK. 

• Close the working canvas by pressing Ctrl+W.

• If you want to use a logo or picture as a watermark the step will be much simpler, which is open the file that you want to use, then click Edit>Define Brush Preset, and rename it.
• Later on your watermark could be used as this PedasTV logo(Check the channel on youtube.com/pedastv) 

The making of master Brush Watermark have finished. That Brush is now automatically saved in your Photoshop directory and you don't need to create the water mark every time. The next step is putting the Watermark into a file.

• Open a file.

• Create new layer by clicking Create a New Layer in Layers pallete.

• Press D then X to adjust the Foreground and Background colour becoming Black and White.

• Click on Brush Tool in Toolbox. In Property Bar adjust Opacity and Flow to 100%.

• Right click the Brush Tool right in the picture area to show Brush dialogue box. Set the Size let's say 500 px or adjust to your need. Slide the slider down and double click on Brush Watermark that we just made.

• Click Brush Watermark in picture area then press V to choose Move Tool. Slide and set the position of the Watermark to your need. Press Ctrl+T if you want to adjust the size of the Watermark. Press Ctrl+E to merge Layer 1 with Layer Background. The result will look like the picture below.

Salah satu cara agar foto yang kita publikasikan tidak digunakan orang lain tanpa seijin kita adalah dengan membubuhkan tanda Watermark pada foto tersebut. Banyak aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk membuat Watermark atau "tanda air" ini. Namun, kali ini kita akan membuatnya dengan Photoshop. Selain mudah, kita juga bisa menjadikannya sebagai “master” sehingga tidak perlu membuatnya berulang-ulang. Berikut ini langkah-langkah pembuatannya.

• Pertamakali siapkan kanvas kerja baru dengan menekan File>New atau tekan Ctrl+N. Isi Width: 800 pixels dan Height: 600 pixels. Color Mode: RGB Color 8 bit. Background Contents: White. Lalu tekan OK.

• Tekan D untuk mereset warna Foreground dan Background menjadi hitam dan putih.

• Pilih Horizontal Type Tool di Toolbox. Klik di atas kanvas kerja dan ketiklah sebuah teks misalnya: watermark.com. Setelah itu pilih Move Tool di Toolbox atau tekan V.

• Di Menu Bar, klik Window>Character untuk memunculkan Palet Character. Buatlah pengaturan sesuai kebutuhan anda. Misalkan, huruf yang digunakan: Arial Rounded MT Bold, ukuran: 100 pt dan warna: abu-abu muda (kode #e6e6e6).

• Di Palet Layers klik Add a Layer Style dan pilih Drop Shadow.

 

• Dalam kotak dialog Drop Shadow buatlah pengaturan untuk Blend Mode: Multiply, Opacity: 45%, Angle: 90 derajat, Distance: 0 px, Spread: 20%, Size: 10 px. Kemudian tekan OK.

• Klik kotak warna di Palet Character, lalu ganti dengan warna putih.

• Hasilnya terlihat seperti gambar di bawah ini.

• Di Palet Layers, klik Layer Background kemudian hapus dengan menekan ikon "tong sampah" (Delete Layer). Saat muncul kotak dialog konfirmasi, tekan Yes.

 

• Sekarang kita akan merubah teks "watermark.com" menjadi Brush, sekaligus akan kita jadikan master Watermark. Di Menu Bar,  klik Edit>Define Brush Preset. Dalam kotak dialog Brush Name, isi Name: Watermark. Klik OK. 

• Tutup kanvas kerja dengan menekan Ctrl+W. Saat muncul kotak dialog konfirmasi, tekan Yes jika anda ingin menyimpannya sebagai file dokumen atau No jika anda tidak ingin menyimpannya. 

• Jika kamu ingin menggunakan logo atau gambar sebagai watermark stepnya akan jauh lebih simple, yaitu buka file logo yang kamu inginkan, lalu klik Edit>Define Brush Preset, dan rename nama brush kamu.
• Nantinya watermark kamu bisa jadi seperti logo PedasTV ini (Dicheck ya channel nya di youtube.com/pedastv) 

Pembuatan master Brush Watermark telah selesai. Brush tersebut telah otomatis tersimpan dalam direktori Photoshop sehingga anda tidak perlu lagi membuatnya dari awal. Langkah selanjutnya adalah menempatkan Watermark ke dalam foto.

• Buka sebuah foto.

• Buat layer baru dengan menekan Create a New Layer di Palet Layers.

• Tekan D kemudian X untuk mengatur warna Foreground dan Background menjadi Putih dan hitam.

• Pilih Brush Tool di Toolbox. Di Property Bar atur Opacity dan Flow: 100%.

• Klik kanan Brush Tool tepat di area foto untuk memunculkan kotak dialog Brush. Atur ukuran Size misalkan 500 px atau sesuaikan dengan kebutuhan anda. Geser slider ke bawah dan lakukan double klik pada Brush Watermark yang tadi telah kita buat.

• Klik Brush Watermark di area foto kemudian tekan V untuk memilih Move Tool. Geser dan atur penempatan Watermark sesuai kebutuhan anda. Tekan Ctrl+T jika ingin mengatur besar-kecilnya ukuran Watermark. Kemudian tekan Ctrl+E untuk menggabungkan Layer 1 dengan Layer Background. Hasilnya akan terlihat seperti contoh di bawah ini.

1. Check your motor cycle spark plug

Untuk para bikers, sebutan bagi para pengendara motor, merawat kondisi mesin dan atribut motor adalah hal yang wajib. "Setelah jarak tempuh motor mencapai maksimal 3000 km, oli mesin harus diganti.

Nah, ada berbagai macam perawatan dan pemeliharaan yang harus Anda lakukan secara berkala, diantaranya adalah:

1. Periksakan Busi Sepeda Motor
Busi sangat vital bagi kelancaran mesin motor, "Cek businya, seandainya masih layak pakai, dapat dipergunakan kembali. Tapi kalau sudah mencapai 12 ribu km, sebaiknya businya di ganti.

Perhatikan pula keadaan kabel koil yang menghubungkan arus listrik ke busi, bila sudah cukup umur, terlihat ada retakkan dan pengerasan di kabel, sebaiknya segera diganti.

2. Cek Filter Karburator
Filter karburator terbagi dua, yaitu jenis basah dan kering. Model filter basah, dibersihkan dengan menggunakan bensin lalu dilumasi oli setelahnya. "Umumnya motor keluaran tahun 1990-2000-an, menggunakan model filter basah seperti ini," tambahnya.

Sedang motor keluaran tahun 2000 ke atas, biasanya menggunakan tipe kering. Cara perawatannya cukup mudah, yaitu tinggal disemprot dengan kompresor. "Tapi model ini juga memiliki kelemahan, yaitu wajib diganti setiap mencapai 25 ribu km dan tidak boleh terkena oli atau minyak," papar pria berusia 23 tahun ini.

Filter oli pun harus diperhatikan, "Motor tahun 90-an tidak menggunakan filter oli, tetapi untuk jenis motor tahun 2000 ke atas, menggunakan filter oli dan wajib di ganti setiap kurang lebih 10 ribu km."

3. Periksa Setelan Rantai dan Gir
Jangan biarkan rantai terlalu kendor atau terlalu kencang, "Bila rantainya kendor, cukup disetel. Tapi kalau kering, cukup diolesi dengan oli khusus rantai (chain lube). Biasanya, rantai harus diganti kalau sudah mencapai 25 ribu hingga 35 ribu km."

Penghobi motor sejak SD ini, juga menyarankan Anda untuk tidak lupa memeriksa kondisi gir. "Jika sudah tajam, lekas ganti, karena kalau tidak rantai dapat putus secara tiba-tiba.

Khusus motor jenis Matic yang menggunakan V/Belt, rantainya tidak dapat disetel dan wajib diganti setiap 25 ribu km. Bila rantai dan gir sudah beres, sekalian periksa kampas rem depan dan belakang, ganti bila sudah terlihat menipis.

4. Membersihkan Karburator
Bersihkan bagian pilot dan main jet motor. Untuk menyetel angin motor tipe manual (buatan tahun 90 hingga 2000-an), tutup baut setelan angin dan buka perlahan berlawanan arah jarum jam, maksimal 1/2 putaran.

Untuk tipe Vakum, yaitu motor keluaran 2000 ke atas, juga sama yaitu dengan membersihkan pilot dan main jet. "Bedanya hanya disetelan angin, untuk tipe ini, maksimal putarannya 2 ½ berlawanan arah jarum jam," paparnya. Untuk penyetelan klep motor 4 tak, adalah setiap 12 ribu hingga 18 ribu km.

5. Cek Kondisi Aki
Motor-motor buatan tahun 2000 ke atas, umumnya telah menggunakan jenis aki kering yang tak memerlukan perawatan khusus (non maintenance). "Tapi setiap tiga tahun, maksimal, wajib di ganti" .

"Sedangkan motor yang menggunakan aki basah, perlu di cek setiap 10 ribu km. Bila air akinya kering, segera diisi," lanjutnya.

Ciri-ciri aki basah yang kondisi sudah lemah adalah, motor tidak mampu di starter. Saya tidak menyarankan untuk memaksa motor menyala dengan cara di dorong, karena ini dapat merusak gigi transmisi.

6. Panaskan Mesin Motor
Panaskan mesin motor sebelum dijalankan, tidak perlu lama-lama, cukup 1-2 menit saja. Fungsinya,agar sirkulasi oli dapat melumasi seluruh bagian dalam mesin yang bergerak. "Tidak perlu lama-lama memanaskannya, karena akan membuat pipa knalpot menguning."

7. Gunakan Sparepart (Suku Cadang) Asli
Meski suku cadang asli sedikit lebih mahal, namun Anda akan merasa puas karena lebih tahan lama dan kualitasnya pun terjamin di banding yang palsu.

Selain beberapa hal di atas,saya juga mengingatkan para bikers untuk selalu memeriksa tekanan ban Anda. "Tekanannya jangan terlalu keras dan jangan kurang, karena dapat mengakibatkan kembang ban motor menjadi rusak."
